So I Like TV Shows....?

He is kinda dreamy...in a total phsycopath sort of way!

Jenkies people, it is February, and I have no idea where the last two weeks have gone!!

That's a total lie. Being snowed in makes way for things like binge-watching on Netflix. "Just one more episode, I can stop after that..." is something I often tell myself.  Yes, I am one of many people who sometimes fall victim to binge watching, and it's 'years worth of series' at your fingertips' charm! My latest addiction...is Dexter

It's so good that I am losing tons of sleep over it. I watch way past my bedtime. I watch way into the morning hours... I counted the moments at boot camp tonight until I could get back to my TV!

I even had a dream this weekend that Dexter was my boyfriend. It was a slice of paradise! And in waking life I really think he'd make a great boyfriend. Aside from that serial killer thing, he pretends to be a great guy...really well! Better than most men pretend to be! He's always there for his girlfriend, and he's pretty awesome with her kids. I mean his biggest strike for me was all the animals he killed as a child. (Ok I think killing people is bad...but I can't help sympathizing more with animals...it's what I do)

The fact that I actually typed out that paragraph probably has a lot to say about the fact that I am famous for choosing really poor partners in life.

I've been down the binge-watching road before. There was also Scandal. Orange is the New Black. Hemlock Grove. Breaking Bad.

I think in the near future, there are going to be support groups for people who can't seem to stop pushing "next episode".  Until then, it's me and Dexter until the bitter end!

Plus...watching show after show is pretty easy when you have a pile of adorable animals always willing to snuggle at a moments notice...Just look at those faces!

Horror, Minus the Horror...

I went to see "The Posession" opening night, in true me fashion, I have to be the first to see the latest scary movie.

I even read up on the "true events" of the story. And found that there were several movies about the same mysterious box....there was also a syfy "paranormal witness" episode about it. They all kinda sucked. This movie kinda sucked too.

Maybe for the average person it was creepy? (one of my girlfriends was freaked out...) But I watch horror movies before bed, alone, in the dark, living in the ghetto.

It takes a lot to rattle me, scare me, or make me actually recommend a movie to another person.

If you have seen it, chances are, I have too.

So, a challenge!!

So, if you are also a fan of the genre, ("thriller's included) what is your favorite scary movie? I am always looking for something I havn't seen!

Horror!...

Since my most favoritist show in the world Lost went off the air, I've been wandering around aimlessly from show to show, half heartedly watching week after week. Feeling unfulfilled. Wondering if there will ever come another scripted show that peaks my interest.

Finally! It happened!

American Horror Story!

Whose watching? What do you think? What do you love? I watch each episode about 5 times, and they never get old.

Finally, a show that makes me giddy, and spend time talking about at the water cooler!

Throw out all your rocks, I saw Apollo 18!...

I collect rocks. I read once that having an attraction to rocks has to do with your past lives, and places those rocks may have been with you in another time. Whatever, I pick them up when I go places, and I have a lot. I like the round smooth ones, that stack nicely on a shelf.

I'm afraid of my rocks now. Because I went to see Apollo 18.

Mind you, I had a long standing love affair with the show Lost. That never told me where they were, or why there were polar bears, or what that smoke monster in the woods was. I didn't care. I watched each episode intently, more than once, peicing together how each episode had to do with another one. Looking for clues. Drooling over Dr. Shephard. I love that sort of thing.

Apollo 18 doesn't hand you a plot. Or great cinematography. Or thrills. I mean, it's a couple dudes in a space ship on the moon back in the 70's.

I should insert here, that I hate aliens. They scare me.

Apollo 18 stressed me out, the way that movie "Buried" with Ryan Reynolds stressed me out. A man, buried alive in a coffin w/a lighter, a cell phone, and a government that betrays him. Or the way that "Frozen" did, a few kids stuck on a ski lift for days. Seriously people, these things can happen to you!!

I don't need to be handed a story. I like to make my own deductions. Draw my own conclusions. Try to figure out if its aliens, or a disease. If the government would really send people to the moon to communicate with aliens, knowing they are deadly. I live for the stuff.

So, I spent the movie with hands over mouth. Squealing, swatting my girlfriend, jumping, and having heart palpatations from being startled, and saying "what IS that?" "OH MY GAAAAWD!!!" and "don't go out there!!!"

But if you don't like to get lost in a movie, and would rather say "this is so not real" you will just think this is boring, and stupid, and a movie about home videos on a space ship. You won't be afraid that astronauts have gone to the moon and brought back MOON rocks. Or....are they?

I havn't read a more interesting review of the movie than mine. I'll be awaiting my financial reimbursement, Apollo 18 makers.

Week 1 Result...

Well the fruits of my labor have paid off. Week one I'm down 6lbs. Which is 1lb a day since the program started sunday and ended Friday. This is a result of a very intricate diet, which I have all individually frozen in the freezer for my convenience. And 8 workouts in 6 days. So, no starvation tactics needed. Just pure old fashioned ass kicking. I am determined to keep an average of 4lbs to meet my 12 week goal! If I do that, I will have lost 100lbs!! (in 4 years mind you) I stopped craving carbs so desperately. After just a few days. I'm not sure why but giving them up other times made me unbearably miserable. I think since I'm having them in the natural form helps. But what I havn't stopped thinking and dreaming about is this.

Why would they come out with such a monstrosity? I have thought about buying one and freezing it so I can enjoy some in 12 weeks, but I know myself. And I know that I'll inevitably in a moment of weakness hack it apart in its frozen form and eat it all.

Reese eggs are the devil.

Speaking of the devil, I saw Insidious this weekend. It was cre-eee-epy.

Boxed In...

I am so super excited about the release of Scream 4 that I can barely contain myself. I love nothing more than a good scary movie, especially when it contains the right amount of cheese to make it worthwhile!

But..I'm kind of pissed that I will have to turn in my Scream trilogy box set for a new one.

Owning box sets is like a secret club. It makes me feel like I'm better than everyone else, because I paid a buttload for a cardboard box to house all the movies other people already own.

And then you realize that box sets aren't all that, because when I bought the Friday the 13th box set, I learned it does NOT include the tenth installment..."Jason goes to space" as it was made by a different movie company. What a total rip off.

I imagine this is how nerds feel, having to re-buy Star Wars and Lord of The Rings 15 times, whenever its digitally remastered, a song is changed, or they add a storm trooper or elf here or there.

What's your most prized box set? Mine is the Nightmare on Elm Street. Complete with 3D glasses for that one scene in "Freddy's Dead". My favorite of the movies is New Nightmare. Which was the one that was a movie within a movie. Kinda like Wes Craven also did in Scream 3. I love that!

New Meaning To the Term Ass to Mouth..

I love a good scary movie. I watch them alone. I watch them with the lights out. I can sleep fine afterwards. 99% of my DVD collection is all horror. The Others, Stir of Echos, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (old and new). I really havn't met one I don't like. I like em cheesy, I like em gory, I like em psychological...I like them all!

I own all the classic box sets, Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street.

But once in a while, one just doesn't sit right with me. I can count on one hand the movies that have done this:

1) The Hills Have Eyes remake#1 they make you love that family and what happens to them is horrific. The mutant nursing? WRONG!

2) The Strangers the part that replays in my mind is the end after being terrorized for hours.. when Liv Tyler asks "why are you doing this?" and the creepy girl says "because you were home" aaaaaaaack!

3) Event Horizon which isn't the least bit scary, but for that one scene when the ship plays the video from "hell". Yea I kinda played that over in my mind a lot.

4) Rosemary's Baby mostly because I saw this as a kid, and when she is raped by the devil, it just creeped me out!

Now...the Human Centipede can be added to the list. Was it scary? Not to me. Was it creepy, yes, a little bit. Was it disturbing? Oh... hell yes! The whole time you are watching this wondering...what the fuck would I do? I can tell you one thing, it would probably involve my slitting my throat or something, because I could not live my life that way!

Halloweener...

Tonight, I'm going to Scare Creek with some girlfriends. Where there is two haunted houses, hayride, and forest, followed by a bonfire. Muh ah ah ah ah. Luckily some of them will be nurses in case my heart stops beating. Just kidding. I don't get scared scared. I get startled scared, but I'm at the point where I know its not a monster.

I mean, I'm 33. Should I even be going to this event? Hells yea, cus its gonna be so much fun!

It better stop raining.

Did I mention I saw Paranormal Activity a couple wks ago? I drove allllll the way to independence (kind of a haul) to see it, and it kinda sucked. It was a really good red box $1 rental! Saw 6 will not disappoint me!

Tomorrow is manfriends halloween party. Where I'm going to dress up like a paper doll, have the most original costume, and have some cocktails.

Manfriend is going to be a priest with a stiffy. Go figure. There's a reason I love that boy. And its not about religion. Oh I guess its not about stiffy's either. But thats a bonus!

Im making buffalo chicken dip that I had at a party once and is now my favorite thing. It has cheese, cream cheese, ranch dressing, canned chicken, and red hot, all melted up in the crock pot. It's quite delicious.

I'll have to blog about how my ex bf called me last wknd. I swear its been over for almost 10 years.

I'd Rather hang around than over...

I might still be a bit hung over. Lucky for me a couple years back I caught the noro virus and urgent care gave me a script for nausea, which also happens to work for hangovers. It wasn't worth having that virus though. I think it would give the swine flu a run for its money.

I had a fabulous weekend, which topped off by the fact that I got to spend 3 days and 2 nights with my manfriend, makes it the nuts on a sundae! (I like nuts!)

This picture of course, is David Draiman from Disturbed. He popped up behind us to get down with the sickness for the encore. As always, they did not disappoint, and put on one hell of a show. My only complaint about this "music as a weapon" tour, is that Lacuna Coil (who in my opinion is 100 times better than Chmira, AND Killswitch Engage....) Only played for 20 minutes.

Oh, I lied, I had two complaints. When we got tickets like 3 months ago for the show, it was at the Wolstein Center. (which for out of towners is an indoor venue) They just decided to change it to the amphitheater. Who changes a concert venue? To outside? After you buy tickets? In May? In Ohio? Luckily, it wasn't cold, but normally, it's like 30 degrees at night. Assholes! Doubly lucky I was jamming out and keeping myself warm. Thirdly lucky I have a pretty cute manfriend who kept me warm!

Oh third complaint's a charm. They shoved all us smokers at the OUTDOOR venue into a corner the size of a dog run, quite literally. We were packed in like sardines. Nevermind our taxes pay for half the crap the rest of the city enjoys. Cleveland kinda sux like that.

On Saturday, we had a fire, with the neighbors...I had those Skinny Girl Margaritas as discussed on the Real Housewives of NY...So, essentially, I drank a bottle of Cuervo silver, and a bottle of triple sec. And 5 limes. Manfriend shared too. But there was no mixer in those margaritas. Straight alchohol, and pretty damn delicious! I only ate 1 taco all day in a stupid effort to not blow my whole "im on a roll and cant run cus my foot hurts" speal. I was yakking 4 hours later, by midnight. But wow did I have some fun before that! It's rough to balance calories...and drinking.

Monday I recuperated. We got up at like 8 am the last two days too. (what, now we're 80?) I blame the manfriend. I could've slept longer. We went to eat at Bob Evans mmmmm, and made the ever exciting trip to Wal Mart. We dug thru the $5 movie bin, and I got a couple good flicks, and kept putting one back to keep my purchase limit at 2 movies. (Get out of debt in 2010, I'm fo-real!) Manfriend ended up giving me a movie later at his house that I put back which was an awesome classic....My Bloody Valentine, and April Fools Day....(both the originals..)

I thought it was pretty nice of him, that's why I promoted him to Sergeant of the Cute police. I know you probably want to vomit, but that's OK. I'm secure in my disgusting love.
Even cuter, he took me to his house for Sunday night, and brought me back on Monday. Like a real date kinda sorta. It was sweet, cus remember, we live 48 miles apart. (Depending on which route you take....mine is the shortest at 45, manfriends way is 52 but don't tell him that) I also happen to love the way he talks to his cat like a little person....there is something about a person who can relate to animals in such an open way.

I had a spectacular weekend. It's nice to laugh and have a good time, and being reminded how nice love can be when its with the right person. I always feel safe and taken care of with manfriend, and he's just so sweet to me I can barely stand it. It's also nice to be reminded that I do have friends that still kickit, and manfriend's friends are a good time too. Even if they do live in Cleveland. (ah, that was for Alexa!)

The Thirteenth...Heart Pounding Fun..

Nice Crappy camera phone picture. Friday, Heather and me went to see Friday the Thirteenth. On Friday the Thirteenth. Her BF got us tickets around 4 so our 7:05 movie time was guaranteed. The line outside went on forever. We acted like VIP's flashing our presale ticket and heading to the front of the line. Sucks to be those guys.

This picture was actually taken at 9pm after the movie, the 9pm show was even more packed. Why? Cus the movie freaking rocked! I'm a horror fanatic. It's my favorite genre. Of course I like the classics, Friday the 13th's (except for X, which was a waste of a movie) Elm streets, Chainsaw Massacre, Hills have Eyes, and Amityville horror. Most of these, have been remade. Each time, I'd bitch and moan because you just can't redo the classics. While I enjoy the classics, they don't scare me as an adult. The best part of these is that you watch them when you are young, and get the poo scared out of you.

This, like the other above remakes, was pretty good. I was shocked at all the kids at the movie. I wasn't even allowed to see Purple Rain! These kids were seeing tits and ass, and sex, and marijuana use, and cursing, and machetes to the head boooooyaaaaah! Oh, and they even show the poonaner via a hustler magazine photo. Yea. Poon!

In the first ten minutes, you're like, oh, I know how this goes.... but you don't. And then when the title flashed the screen after the opener..the whole place clapped and cheered. Awesome! I love a great movie opening night!!! I can say that there is one guy the whole movie you can't wait until he gets his nads chopped off or something equally as horrible. My only complaint is that his death wasn't more violent. But he does scream like a girl.
The death scenes? Awesome. As expected. I am not a die hard, who is all pissed off that they didn't use the original Jason, because let's face it. He's big, and always one step behind you. Not much criteria needed. I can't say enough about how much I loved this flick, other than I cannot wait to see it again! If you are a fan of the originals, you will appreciate this one. I wanted to hate it, I really did. (On another note, I am pretty sure I'm going to hate the Nightmare remake, because....unlike Jason, Freddy can't be played by anyone but Robert Englund, and Billy Bob? Get real)

Even more awesome? The previews for this movie A Haunting in Connecticut. I saw the TRUE STORY of this on that show A Haunting. Creepy! That's the kind of movie that creeps me out.
For Valentine's, my manfriend made me dinner! He made chicken alfredo, and we had cocktails and wine and champagne. I harassed him while he was trying to cook cus, I happen to be in lust as much as I am love with the boy. So, I didn't keep my hands to myself until I got what I wanted. Dinner was delicious!
It's pretty awesome to have a manfriend that is always nice to you, and therefore, the day is just another day to be in love. We went to a PJ party at a bar down the road for like half an hour. Where some skank in skanky clothes she shouldnt have been wearing tried to pick up my manfriend. On Valentine's day. She just had a cheesy line like, asking me his name. I said my boyfriend? And then after that asking him if she knew him from Outback Steakhouse. Stupid bitch should learn some better moves.
